We are getting our classroom ready for Open House.  Our young artist's choice gallery reflects a variety of masterpieces, and ancestry mobiles dangle from the ceiling, each one telling a story about family history.  Poems reside in "Poetry Cafe," and our science themes are portrayed in quilt form.   We have come a long way in second grade.

STAR Test

Your children were all diligent test takers during the STAR exam.  I was impressed with how well they listened, followed directions and put forth their best efforts.  We are having a school-wide free lemonade celebration of completing the test on Monday, May 20.  

America's Tallest Tales on Youtube

Open House

Please come to Open House on Wednesday, May 22 in Room 201 from 6:30-8:00.  The children are proud of their work and can't wait to give you a personal tour of our classroom.  Hope to see you there.

Spring Concert - Grades 1 and 2

The Spring Choral Concert for Grades 1 and 2 will be on Tuesday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the MPR.  All 2nd graders should wear sneakers, shorts and a solid bright colored shirt.

Report Cards

The third trimester report card for second grade will come home with the children on the last day of school.  This month, we are assessing the students in all areas of the curriculum.  As always, if new information or concerns emerge about your child's academic progress, I will contact you directly.
